Change the Game

I was reminded that 1 year ago today I had my very first photoshoot! I was nervous, excited, anxious, fearful but most importantly I was motivated to make my dreams a reality. So much has changed in a year but today I’m sharing some game-changers that I feel really have set me up for success!  For those that have been following me for a while, I hope you’ve seen a change in my content! Here are some things that changed the game for me!

1. Conducted an audit of my page and asked myself these questions:

If I were a brand would I pay her for content?

I know we all want to get paid for content but is your content worth getting paid for? Sometimes you must pay your dues and show brands you can consistently post quality content. When I tell you, I do not post anything that I am not 100% confident in; my friends will tell you I am so picky. This all being because when I put my content out in the world, I want it to be received well.

If I were a random person would I stop, and press follow?

Essentially, I know every person is not going to follow you and you may not be everyone’s cup of tea. My main concern is seeing if there is something about my page that would at least have people take a second look. I started to do this by mixing up my content showing a mixture of reels, selfies, full-body photos, and diving into some lifestyle content as well. This can easily be done by looking at your analytics and seeing which posts performed the best and recreating this content!

What do I want the look and feel of my page to be?

So, the look and feel of your page are so important! I knew I wanted my feed to be light, airy, and positive. If you look on Instagram there are so many page variations such as black and white, neutral tones, a mixture of word graphics and photos, and so much more! Once you figure out how you want your page to look go with this!

2. Stopped posting just to say I posted!

As much as I want to post every day, I am human and some days I do not feel like it! I always want to post when I know it is something that will bring value to my followers. Take days off and come back and show up for your followers when you are at your best!

3. Yes, we all have goals and want to make a career out of this but do not take it too seriously!

You are reaching the right people and they will come to you. Having fun with this and enjoying the journey has made this so much more rewarding for me. If you are choosing to be an influencer for the wrong reasons it will show, and you will not withstand all the work it takes.

I am by no means an expert I am just telling you how my mindset mixed with hard work is paying off for me! Wishing you all the best on your influencer journey!
